The best soap brands for health

If you’re like me, you’re always looking for better ways to improve your health. From getting exercise and fresh air, to eating healthy organic foods, health is really the only thing you have in this life and it is of utmost importance to ensure that you are at your peak health and finding ways to improve it everyday.

You may have discovered that anything that is touching your skin or that you can smell is being absorbed by your body. Your body can absorb nutrients through the air, including vitamins from the sun. This can be very good for you. Likewise, if your body is exposed to harmful chemicals, you will be absorbing this into your body just the same as you would absorb nutrients. This is why it is so vital to eliminate all toxic “everyday” items that humans use and replace them with natural and gentle ingredients that first of all don’t harm your skin, and second don’t harm your body. In this article we can start with finding the right soap brands for your health so that you will have healthy skin, a bright complexion, and you won’t be damaging any other parts of your body.

Dr Bronners soap would have to be the first soap that I recommend in this article. Everyone knows the miracle ingredient Coconut Oil. You can use in basically everything. From a healthy diet to exfoliation to toothpaste to deoderant etc etc., it is one of the most versatile ingredients you will ever find. That’s why the base ingredient to dr bronners soap is this wonderful organic coconut oil. Coconut has moisturizing properties that will leave your skin feeling soft without the caked feeling. In addition, it has antibacterial properties that will kill bacteria as well as exfoliate your skin and clear up your pores. On top of all this, this organic coconut oil comes from organic coconuts that have been cold-pressed to produce the finest oil possible. Your skin can absorb all the nutrients that come along with this organic coconut oil and will leave you feeling very healthy. After the oil, this healthy soap then uses hemp oil, which has lot of the same properties as coconut oil, with added nutrients to make you feel that much more healthy. After that, add some of your favorite fragrances in essential oils, add some binding agents, and you’ve got your wonderfully healthy and organic soap brand of dr bronners that you are guaranteed to like.

The next soap I recommend for your health is a Ivory bar soap. It is created by a company called LEAP, which is a small, family run business who prides themselves on quality, not quantity. You can buy a bar for only five bucks and the quality is pretty incredible for that price. They combine (obviously) coconut oil and shea butter with palm oil and a variety of scented essential oils. This means that you don’t get the leftover buildup that standard hand soaps cause, and instead you get a smooth finish that washes away and leaves your skin feeling supple, moist, and soft. This is a great soap and I highly recommend it for your health.

What is a Tummy Tuck?

Introduction

A ‘tummy tuck’ is a colloquialism for Abdominoplasty, a cosmetic surgical procedure designed to firm up the abdomen. Such a procedure implies removal of unwanted skin and adipose tissue–fat–off the midriff, perhaps even the lower abdomen, to tauten all muscles as well as the frontal part of the stomach area. This type of surgery is normally asked for by people who have flabby stomachs and often by women whose tissues have remained soft and still sag ponderously after pregnancy. At times, it is sought after a considerable shedding of weight by people of either gender.

Why do People Opt for a Tummy Tuck?

The primary reason is vanity. Most of us would love to have a six-pack to display, failing which we would settle for a flat and well-toned abdomen. This is a good motivational reason and many of us try for it by exercising and controlling weight. Some manage, some don’t.

Even normally built individuals can develop a protruding abdomen even though they fight against it. Normal causes for a sagging belly include:

  • Difficulty in post pregnancy maintenance of weight and shape for women
  • Aging, causing reduction in skin elasticity, leading to sagging mid-sections
  • Heredity- where your genes work against you
  • Medical reasons, like a prior surgery
  • Gluttony, or a fondness for beer

Most cosmetic surgeons state that a flat abdomen is a good indicator of sound health. It not only indicates a proper balance between individual strength and endurance, but also that the individual has read or learned about optimal nutritional choices and how it complements good health and, what is more, shows a low-stress lifestyle.

Types of Abdominoplasty

Abdominoplasty operations can vary in scope, depending on the basic reason for carrying it out. A complete tummy tuck could take anywhere from 3-5 hours. The frontal area from around the navel to the hip-to-hip line is cut open, muscles tightened laterally by stitches, fat removed by liposuction, fluids removed by swabbing or suction, the navel repositioned and the frontal area sutured. Recovery could take from a fortnight to a month. Other common surgeries are:

  • Partial abdominoplasty
  • Extended abdominoplasty, a complete tummy tuck with a thigh lift
  • Circumferential abdominoplasty, an extended abdominoplasty plus a buttocks lift

The most recent tummy tucks include Floating abdominoplasty(FAB), lateral tummy tucks and a combination of most salient aspects of abdominoplasty. These are based on minimal invasive intervention concepts as well as tightening muscles vertically.

No matter where you live, you can find many doctors specializing in this procedure – but you should examine the options carefully and ideally verify the doctor’s track record and credentials. If you desire a tummy tuck south jersey shore area for instance, you could familiarize yourself with what facilities are available to you at the specific clinic. Most often, a consultation and general body assessment is done by the specialist, who would then offer you the best advice on the way to go as an individualized treatment option. Cost would vary depending on the amount of surgery involved and tends to be in the $4-10,000 range, though newer techniques and expanded demand have seen bills touch $20,000. A tummy tuck san diego could be an example of an economically feasible option, if you happen to live in California.

Risks

No surgery is risk free, more so if general anesthesia is involved. Risks in abdominoplasty exist, no doubt, but are minimal and not really life-threatening. Complications arise if you have some other disorder, like a cardiac condition rectified by a bypass surgery. Blood flow is difficult to control, but there are ways around it. Infections, if any, are easily treated with antibiotics and patients are advised to get mobile as soon as practicable.

Physical Therapy and Traveling

In 2012, I took a 3 month backpacking trip around South East Asia and visited over 7 countries including Vietnam and North Korea (yes, North Korea). It was an amazing trip with a lot of memories and crazy stories. Although I had a really good time, I was constantly bothered by my right thigh muscle. I hurt it back in college and it just hasn’t been the same since. Because a lot of walking is involved in traveling, I was just always on it making the pain worse and worse. That’s when I had to end my trip early. You see, I was planned to stay in Tokyo, Japan for a year to teach English, but I couldn’t accept the offer, because of my leg.

The first thing I did when I went home, was visit a physical therapist. I went to In Motion Orange County, a physical therapy Orange County clinic, over the course of the following four months. Each session the physical therapist had me do 20 or so variants of stretches to I guess relax and realign my muscles, which apparently I needed. Whatever he did though, it worked, because not even a month in the sessions, I could feel a difference. As I’m getting older, I’m beginning to understand the important of my muscles and health of my body. I guess I’m realizing I’m not as young anymore!

Anyway, after the four months of therapy, I was completely fine. Actually, I haven’t felt better in years. I immediately continued some of the stretches he recommended at home. He said to do the stretches when my leg is feeling a little tight. After a few weeks of continued stretching I didn’t continue it. Fast forward a few months later, I’m back in Los Angeles at the Japanese embassy applying to teach English in Japan again. Luckily, I was presented an offer again! I was able to continue my dream of teaching in Japan.

Well, not even a couple months into my new assignment, my leg was starting to tighten up. You see, in Japan, people do a lot of walking. My apartment was a mile from the station and then my school was another mile form their station. So everyday, I walked 4 miles and quickly, my leg started to feel it. But thanks to going to physical therapy, I knew exactly what stretches I needed to do each morning to regain my strength. I was dedicated to being consistent and not missing a stretch. My persistence paid off in just a week and I was fine again.I was very thankful that I had that taken care of before I went to Japan, because I don’t know what I would have done if I had to go see a physical therapist in Japan when I don’t speak nearly enough Japanese to understand medical speak.

This is a good lesson to take in before traveling. Make sure you have your health checked out before you go and are prepared to take care of it something happens when you’re abroad.

Best Shoes for Flat Feet

Foot problems - I think it happens to just about everyone. When hiking out favorite path sometimes we can go the full distance without a problem and other times we are left with aching feet that prevent us from walking at the pace we want or forcing us to turn back. This pain is most often caused from not wearing the correct shoe. All of us have a unique foot that require a very specific shoe in order to be comfortable and promote good walking technique. Without a proper fitting shoe, you can get blisters, foot pain, and sudden tiredness. In today’s post, we want to talk about how you can find the best walking shoes for you.

You already know your length size in a shoe, but do you know your width? The width of your foot is one of the most important factors (besides length size) of your shoe fitment. If you get the wrong width (either too tight or too loose) you will most definitely suffer from blisters from extra rubbing when there shouldn’t be. Use your shoe’s sizing guide to determine what width shoe to buy. You can often find these fitment guides right next to the size selector on online stores.

The next thing you need to know is your arch type. To figure that out, get the bottom of your foot wet while bare foot and step onto a light concrete or sidewalk (somewhere you can clearly see your wet footprint). Take a few steps on the ground to leave an imprint so you can observe one. You can use this test to see if the majority of your arch is touching the ground (meaning you have low arches) or to see if the majority of it is not touching the ground (high arches). Low arches is definitely most common and often referred to as flat feet. When you know the length size, your width size, and your arch type, you can now find the perfect walking shoes.

Often times, shoes made for walking will offer the best support and cushioning in a shoe. Check out this websites guide to the best walking shoes and you can see that they prioritize function and fit over style (although they still do look good - don’t worry). If you have low arches, you can find the best walking shoes for you with their guide on the best shoes for flat feet. They list out the best shoes for people with flat feet and you can basically just pick from their list on style alone. They make it really easy and that’s what I did.

Ever since I switched from my old shoes to my new ones that I got specifically for my feet, it felt like it made a world of a difference. I can now walk much longer without even thinking about my feet, which used to be a big problem for me. I definitely think the shoe matters so if it’s your time to get new shoes, you need to consider measuring our feet correctly and buying the right shoes for your unique foot type. You will definitely thank yourself later.

Outdoor Dumping: Do it Comfortably

No, we’re not talking about dumping trash outdoors (we’re totally against that). We’re talking about portable toilets! Portable toilets (a.k.a. porta potties) are portable outhouses just big enough to fit a toilet and your bum. Obviously, you’re not going to strap a portable toilet to your back on your next hike, but it could prove to be an instrumental “luxury” at the next outdoor event you host. When a lot of people have to go and do their business out in the woods, the chance of running into someone while walking to find your spot could be an awkward encounter. Or even worse, finding a spot and doing your business only to realize once it’s too late another patron just 50ft across from you doing their business as well.

Instead, save the awkward moments for the social interactions during the event and get a few portable toilets. It’s much less awkward standing a few feet away from someone dumping in a tiny little outhouse with only a 2 inch plastic door to separate you from them (it won’t stop the smell though). But seriously, portable toilets can be a great addition for the comfort of your guests for a few reasons. A lot of people, although they are in the outdoors, don’t like to do their business outdoors in a squatting stance. Portable toilets can provide these people with a traditional toilet seat that they can appreciate. Additionally, portable toilets also come with many rolls of toilet paper so people don’t have to bring toilet paper out to the woods when they have to do their business. Believe it or not, but pooping in a portable toilets is much cleaner than outdoors, because it gives people the time, comfort, and ability to better wipe and prevent rashes after they have finished pooping.

If you think you could use a portable toilet, they are fairly inexpensive. Of course, you’re not buying one, you’re renting one so the cost is usually on a per day basis. If you want to browse prices, we found the best place to rent portable toilets are from PortableToiletCo.com. If you are in Los Angeles, they have a great page with a list of more than enough companies to choose from for portable toilets in Los Angeles. They have these type of pages in cities all across the Unites States. For example, if you’re looking for portable toilets in Houston, you can check out the available portable toilets in Houston. All you have to do is go and search for your city and let them know when you need it and you can find your personalized list.

If you need many portable toilets, consider getting a restroom trailer which gives you multiple porta potties at a discounted price because it’s all on a trailer. If it is a high end event, “VIP portable toilets” are also available. It is important to make sure your guests are always comfortable at your event so they can go again next year and bring their friends and family as well.
